This is an 11-Step, Make Money Online plan by the Rich Sage –Follow it to start making money online with $0 costs and NO START UP money and earn your first commission check from ClickBank without spending any money.

ClickBank is the largest digital marketplace. I’ll explore 11 Steps that you need to follow to make money working with products and software sold via ClickBank. The market place at ClickBank is very large. They have over 100,000 Affiliates. My exploration covers getting started, which is free, searching for the best products to work with and finally getting the traffic that you need to make the effort worthwhile.

Make Money Online with Clickbank

Let’s get started with my 11-Step Make Money with Clickbank Plan…

ClickBank has thousands of merchant who sell products that pay anywhere from 20% to 70% in commissions. Some commissions are as much as $100.00 per sale. Furthermore, some of the products even have “back end” commissions. ClickBank recently added membership commissions, which means that you can sell memberships that have recurring commissions.

My objective in this exercise is to help you get started online and earn your first commission check while spending $0.00 –just your effort and time are required. Nothing else! Once you build your first commission check at ClickBank, you can invest some of that income in your own domain, and try your hand at paid advertising. However, until you earn your first commission check(s), nothing else has to be done, than following the plan below! Keep it simple and just get started.

These days with the economy going ’south’ the need for loans, better credit and various kinds of financial knowledge is key to success, especially business success. Well, “financial knowledge” and “Financial How To” information is always in demand, world wide. That’s just one example of a THOUSAND types of products and services you can sell via ClickBank.

In my case, I am using the below advice in various ways –At Rich Sage dot com I first created a Marketplace Directory, but that didn’t work all that well, adding products. Now I’ve gone to a “Marketplace” that you see linked at the top to sell products. It is in development stage as I write this, but you can be assured that a lot of ClickBank products will be sold there. The second way that I sell ClickBank products is by using a $15.00 software program installed at AffiliateMINT. On a consistent basis this site sells products from it’s links. I hate to say it, but I haven’t touched the site in about a year, and it keeps on selling every month. I will update it soon to have a better look. Once you get successful at sales, my suggestion is to setup your own themed sales site for ClickBank products…

Ah, now I am getting way too much ahead. To build any success, you first need to get started. Let’s do that now!

#1: JUST GET STARTED for FREE!

Starting your make money online plan requires a free ClickBank account. Then you can explore ClickBank’s marketplace where thousands of digital products, services and memberships are sold. You need to search the marketplace for products and services that you know something about or pick purely for marketing purposes –preferably products that are needed by consumers. What kind of product should you pick? There are two elements that you need to look for:

A. Pick a product where there is a market that will spend money to resolve a problem. Look at current trends –80 million USA Baby Boomers going into retirement. That same group is looking to look younger and healthier. People are always looking to earn more, education –anything people are looking for can be sold. E-books helping solve most problems are a huge market.

You must keep “A” in mind at all time, because there are thousands of products, but some sell more than others. ClickBank provides an easy way for you to see which products sell better using “Gravity”. The better the “gravity” of a product, the better it sells. But, keep in mind, new products don’t always get picked up by sellers. So, you may want to also look at newly released products for items to jump start your sales.

B. Pick a product with a GREAT SALES page. When you read the sales page, are you compelled to purchase? Then it’s a good item to sell. OR, perhaps, you’ve already purchased it.

#2: PRODUCT SELECTION at the CLICKBANK MARKETPLACE

Explore the ClickBank Marketplace and pick your products, services or memberships to market. Using my advice above, pick a product or two that you’re going to start writing about. Keep in mind that in this exercise, you will be the writer, looking to produce around 10 articles that are 400 to 600 words in length about the product you’re marketing. Make sure to pick a good category of products.

Before your final selection of a product or two to work with, just do a Google search and visit some of the web sites and check to make sure there are LOTS of ADVERTISERS in a given category. The more money advertisers spend on Google Ads, the more likely that there are LOTS of buyers in that category.

For example, just take a look at the FREE ArticleMINT publishing site, my article site. Pick your category, in the directory and then click through to an article. Are there a lot of advertisers? Then you have a good category for sales.

Lastly, keep in mind that the BEST PRODUCT you can market is NOT necessarily the one that pays a higher commission. The best product is the one that you has the GREATEST AD ROI!!! (That greatest return on advertising investment). Your “ads” getting started are free, but don’t forget the time you’ve put into it. Just make sure you start with a product that gives you a good return on your time from the start!

IMPORTANT: ClickBank will assign you a “Sales Link” often called a ‘hoplink’ –make sure that you understand how that works, and that you have YOUR OWN CORRECTLY SETUP!!! If not, you will not get credit for your sales efforts.

#3: SETUP YOUR WEBSITE(S)

Once you get started, especially using WordPress, learn to optimize your writing for search engines. Keep in mind that to use WordPress or a blogging platform, you don’t need a hosting account. From WordPress.COM or Blogger.COM you can create your own web space. When you build a site at either WordPress or Blogger, make sure that you use a descriptive name for your site, preferably with the word or two from the category you are marketing. If you are selling “Cruise Vacations”, make sure your website address has that word as part of the domain you’ll create. If you category is “Bad Credit Loans” make sure to have that information in the address or header of your site or site’s name.

If you have trouble getting an exact domain, do a Google search for some of the products key words and see what type of web sites come up on page one. Then use some of those sites page/site titles as a guide to setting up your own product site! Learn from what works…

#4: SETUP YOUR MARKETING EFFORTS

Next step is to use articles to build your traffic to your market place sales links, using my list of Best Article Publishing Sites. As I said earlier, you need to write around 10 articles that are 400 to 600 words, if possible every week, to advertise your products using article sites. Keep in mind that it’s also possible to write a great article that has around 750 words, and then “spin” that article into many articles that are a bit shorter. It’s very important to place *unique* articles in the article publishing sites! These pieces of content get picked up by search engines and deliver visitors for your sales efforts often for months!

To summarize your marketing efforts:

  • Pick the best products that will sell.
  • Get the sales links that give you credit for sales at ClickBank.
  • Articles, Web Sites and Even Internet Publishing Sites generate visitors to your sales links.
  • Once you have a good idea what sells and your conversion rates, start to purchase ads.
  • Evaluate and repeat!

#5: START WRITING YOUR ARTICLES

In your article writing try to conform to the AIDA method of writing. I have written several tips about article writing at the above link. Just follow as many of those suggestions -especially the ones about AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire and Action) to get your articles going. Keep in mind that the first 10 articles are going to be the hardest and may take you even a MONTH to write! Yes, getting going is very tough. However, after you get a few dozen under the belt, you’ll see that it’s not that bad. You’ll get into a rhythm and then it will be easy! You’ll be able to “crank out” one article in about half an hour! Just get started and you’ll see.

#6: YOUR SIGNATURE or RESOURCE BOX

Make sure that the resource box at the bottom of your articles is pointing to the correct URL. This is vital and you must check to make sure the link works *before* publishing your article. Keep in mind that some sites allow HTML in your article’s signature (resource box) area, while other don’t. Some article sites allow more than one link from the article to your site or sales page. Just make sure to follow the directions of the article site, and you’ll be fine. The name of the game here is that you’ll publish quality articles and that’s what the article sites are looking for.

Looking at the basic FUNCTIONS of an article:

  • Subject: This is VITAL. This is the headline that people will read first. You might have to spend 50% of your article writing time on this part. IT IS VITAL!
  • Body: Again, go to AIDA process of creating your article.
  • Summary: It’s good to have a summary about what you’ve written.
  • Signature/Resource Box: This is the area where you want to link back to your website or ClickBank sales ‘hoplink’. Keep in mind that many articles sites WILL NOT allow you to link directly with Affiliate Links –then you have to use an indirect method of first linking to your website and then using additional sales copy to aide your reader to proceed to a sales link. Just a TWO STEP PROCESS, but necessary for your sales efforts.

Another important consideration to make is that you use a forwarding URL for your links to protect your sales and manage your URLS. I’ve discussed the idea in my article about setting up htaccess forwarding. However, this is an advanced step that you need to consider when you have your own hosting. At this time, you’re going to spend NO MONEY doing all 11 steps, so, just keep this idea in mind for adding to your success later.

#7: DON’T RUN BLIND

For greater results and optimization of your effort, you can turn to Google’s tracking. So far you’re doing well. You’ve set up the basic elements to get your success moving and growing. However, you’re still “running blind” because you don’t know the *effectiveness* of your writing and where most of your visitors are coming from. By knowing these little details, you’ll be able to highly optimize your visitor generation. It may not be that important with free traffic, but it will become vital when you start to purchase traffic to your sales pages at a later time. #8: OTHER PUBLISHING SITES

Keep in mind that any place where there are masses of people like MYSPACE, FACEBOOK or even your niche sites pertaining to your category picked at ClickBank are great places to attract buyers. You can also setup mini information sites at TWITTER, publish your articles at DIGG, SPHINN and REDDIT.COM. I’ve found out that publishing my Rich Sage dot com blog posts at DIGG, SPHINN and REDDIT add about 20% more traffic to my posts. Most of the traffic comes from search engines and lately via my brand, which people tend to remember well. However, a 20% boost in traffic from a publishing site is not something to disregard. For an extra 10 minutes of work (which is what it takes for me to publish my posts at the three article sites) you may earn an extra $100 or more dollars from the traffic generated.

Did I forget to mention another site that can generate thousands of FREE visitors to sales pages? YouTUBE! Once again, when you get your process moving along, don’t forget about creating a simple video about the product, benefits or making/using something funny to build visitors. Take a lot at some of the weight loss “How to” videos at YouTube. See how they link from several places to sales pages? Often these are products sold through ClickBank. Make sure when you watch these video that you don’t start spending your money on products *before* you start earning something!

#9: USING NICHE FORUMS

Additionally, participate in industry forums for your products. You’ll find eager buyers in active forums. In my example, I mentioned “financial products” — Then find 10 financial forums that allow for signature areas in your forum posts and start making a contribution. In my case, I spend a few hours each week exploring forums to learn more and make a few contributions. From these posts, I get consistent traffic on a monthly basis.

I’ve even setup a FREE AD FORUM that you can use to advertise your products, directly from the forum. Just place a creative ad in the forum and you’ll get FREE traffic!

#10:WHY NOT WRITE YOUR OWN E-BOOK?

Since you’re in the business of helping people solve problems with digital e-books, why not write your own to solve a problem? It’s not that difficult –once you get your online marketing efforts growing for free, it’s time to come up with your own product and build more sales.

When you are ready to write your own e-book, my suggestion is to get a copy of MicroSoft Office(R), which usually has a 90-Day Trial. Coincidentally, about 60 to 90 days is all you need to write a good 60 to 100 page e-book! Often you can take the articles that you’ve researched as a basis for your first e-book. Use MS Office to write the e-book, and then convert it to ADOBE PDF(R) format for distribution.

When you are selling your e-book, keep in mind that people are going to pass it around for free. Just prepare for that by adding back-end products that earn you commissions. Once such product is my PERFECT AFFILIATE PROGRAM!

Once you write an e-book, you can ask fellow marketing experts at a forum such as the Warrior Forums for advice, critiques and testimonials. They will even go through your sales process and give you advice.

#11: RINSE and REPEAT!

You followed items 1 to 10. It’s working great, perhaps, for one or two products. Now it’s a matter of returning to ClickBank and adding a few more products. Then as the profits are “rolling in” it’s time to consider the below list of items that can greatly add to your revenue. You may be earning $500 or even $1,000 dollars per month with your free setup and sales process.

Then, by adding the below “PRO” ideas, you’ll greatly expand your revenue. At this point, you’ll see that $2,500 or even $5,000 per month in sales revenue is not out of the question, when your setup is done correctly.

HERE are MY ADVANCED SUGGESTIONS:

A. Writing your own articles are fine when you get started. However, as the commissions start to come in consider hiring someone to help with writing and making the multiple unique copies of your articles.

B. You must get your own domain. This domain can just be your name even. But, the advantage you have is that you can install WordPress Content Management System and use HTACCESS to manage your sales pages. You will also be able to track your progress and sales better.

C. Then, there is the idea of purchasing traffic. IF you know that when you generate 100 visitors, you make 5 sales and that results in $125 dollars in commissions, why not do this: Buy 1,000 targeted visitors at a cost of $100.00 and see what happens. When you end up earning $1,250 from that, you know what to do next –increase your advertising purchases and see what happens. By experimenting, with small amounts of traffic (and ad spending) you can keep testing your progress. Then you’ll be able to optimize your sales effort and keep building your commissions.

D. Perhaps, the most advanced idea that I can mention is that you “retain the attention” of your visitors by offering them a chance at opting-in to your mailing list. Then you can send them updates -either weekly or monthly about the topic of interest and let them know about new information or research about the topic and select new products and services that will help solve their problems.
